Seremban Records RM45 Mln In Agricultural Produce In 2025

SEREMBAN, July 5 (Bernama) –Seremban’s agricultural sector continued to perform well, recording a production value of RM45 million with total output reaching 14,671.27 tonnes last year.

Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun said the district has gazetted agricultural land of 40,187.16 hectares, planted with vegetable and fruit crops such as coconuts, melons and durians.

He said Seremban is also one of the key districts contributing to Negeri Sembilan's economy.

"Seremban continues to show positive growth in the agro-based industry, with 91 active entrepreneurs generating RM12 million in production value during the same period, while nearly 32,000 customers received advisory services from the Seremban district agriculture office.

"Of that number, 25 entrepreneurs have obtained halal, MESTI and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) certifications, and several companies have become examples of successful local entrepreneurship," he said at the Seremban-level Agrofestival here today.

Aminuddin said the government has allocated development funding to three agro-based industry entrepreneurs this year: RM27,550 for product processing automation, RM10,000 for halal certification incentives, and RM34,399 for upgrading processing workshops.

He said the initiative demonstrates the government's commitment to improving productivity and strengthening local entrepreneurs’ competitiveness to penetrate broader markets.

"The agricultural sector must continue to be strengthened as a modern, profitable and high-technology industry to attract more young people, while boosting the economy, strengthening food security and helping to stabilise the cost of living.

He urged the public to continue supporting local products to help drive the state economy and boost the agricultural sector.

Exhibitions by government departments and agencies, health screenings, nutrition briefings, skills courses, agricultural demonstrations, unity programmes, and sales of agro-based products from Seremban entrepreneurs were highlights of the two-day Agrofestival.
