KUALA LUMPUR, June 22 (Bernama) -- Koperasi Pembiayaan Syariah ANGKASA Bhd (KOPSYA) recorded a net profit of RM12.7 million for financial year 2025, strengthening its position as a trusted cooperative financial institution.

KOPSYA chairman Datuk Seri Dr Abdul Fattah Abdullah said at the 12th annual general meeting of KOPSYA at the Angkatan Koperasi Kebangsaan Malaysia Bhd (ANGKASA) auditorium yesterday.

Abdul Fattah said in a statement today that the record achievement by KOPSYA proved that the institution was capable of achieving excellent performance when managed based on the principles of trust, integrity and good governance.

He said it also serves as a benchmark that cooperative principles and professionalism can go hand in hand, thus proving that cooperative institutions are capable of competing and achieving excellent performance when managed with trust, integrity and efficiency.

“To date, KOPSYA has approved financing totalling RM1.3 billion, with financing disbursements of RM874 million to member cooperatives in various economic sectors including real estate, plantations, retail and credit,” he said.

Abdul Fattah said KOPSYA’s efforts to explore the Islamic capital market through the issuance of sukuk also showed positive developments when financing assets worth RM100 million were successfully completed.

He said the move was expected to open up space for larger and sustainable funding sources to support the growth of member cooperatives in future.

He said following the encouraging response after the first KOPSYA Ar-Rahnu branch in Saujana Utama, Sungai Buloh began operating in November last year, the cooperative is now in the process of identifying a strategic location for the opening of the second branch.

The statement added that Abdul Fattah was successfully re-elected KOPSYA chairman during the special board meeting, while Datuk Mohd Jamil Othman also remained as deputy chairman.
