AKPK Appoints Azman Hasim As New CEO Effective Today

KUALA LUMPUR, June 18 (Bernama) -- Agensi Kaunseling dan Pengurusan Kredit (AKPK) has appointed Azman Hasim as its chief executive officer (CEO), effective June 18.

In a statement today, AKPK said Azman brings over three decades of experience in the financial services industry and nearly 20 years of dedicated service at the agency.

“Since Jan 1, 2026, Azman has served as acting CEO following the retirement of former CEO, Azaddin Ngah Tasir, ensuring a seamless leadership transition and continuity in the agency’s strategic direction,” it added.

Azman holds a degree in accounting and finance from the University of Wales, Aberystwyth, United Kingdom.

He is also a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, a member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants and a registered Shariah financial planner with the Malaysian Financial Planning Council.

The agency said that as CEO, he will lead the execution of AKPK’s long-term strategic priorities, focusing on strengthening financial capability, expanding access to advisory and debt management services, and deepening outreach to underserved communities.

AKPK chairman Fauziah Hisham said with Azman’s extensive experience, strategic foresight, and deep understanding of AKPK’s mandate, he is well-positioned to guide the organisation into its next phase of growth and impact.
