KUALA LUMPUR, June 3 (Bernama) -- Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof was impressed when he visited the Malaysian National News Agency’s (Bernama) motorhome showcased at the exhibition held in conjunction with the second edition of the Energy Transition Conference 2026 (ETCon26).

Coincidentally, it was exactly a year ago when the agency’s motorhome, now known as the Bernama Mobile Studio, was launched enabling live interviews to be conducted in the field and at off-studio sites where major news events take place.

Bernama is the first media agency to use a recreational vehicle or motorhome for field reporting operations whereby the broadcasting equipment inside the vehicle is powered by electric batteries.

The mobile studio not only allows journalists to conduct live interviews with respondents but also provides commercial value for Bernama’s clients who need on-site coverage for large-scale events.

Some 4,000 participants are attending the three-day ETCon26 which would be officiated by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim tomorrow.

Fadillah, who is also Minister of Energy Transition and Water Transformation (PETRA), was accompanied by his deputy Datuk Abdul Rahman Mohamad during the visit to the motorhome.

Also present during his rounds were Deputy Economy Minister Datuk Mohd Shahar Abdullah, Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB) chairman Tan Sri Abdul Razak Abdul Majid and TNB president and chief executive officer Datuk Shamsul Ahmad.

Upon arrival, he was welcomed by Bernama Broadcasting senior sales executive Noor Mahirah Mat Dan and other Bernama personnel.

The Deputy Prime Minister spent about 15 minutes touring the motorhome, interacting with Bernama representatives and taking photographs with members of the delegation.

Bernama has been appointed as the official media partner for ETCon26, providing media coverage, producing a newsletter and organising interviews with participants at the motorhome throughout the three-day conference.

Fadillah also spent nearly an hour visiting exhibition booths and engaging with key industry players participating in the conference, including TNB and Malakoff Corporation Bhd.

He later toured exhibits by leading data centre companies including DayOne Data Centers and K2 Strategic Infrastructure Malaysia as well as artificial intelligence solutions provider Trilliant Networks Inc.

Held from June 3 to 5 under the theme "Energy & AI: The Synergy for Energy Transition", ETCon26 features more than 50 exhibitors and 80 speakers from across the energy and technology sectors.

Delegates from over 60 countries are attending TNB's flagship conference, which serves as a platform to accelerate the implementation of Malaysia's energy transition agenda and foster regional collaboration on sustainable energy solutions.
