SCS Test Solution Strengthens Malaysia’s Vehicle Safety Landscape With VLT Technology

KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 15 (Bernama) -- SCS Test Solution Sdn Bhd is raising the standards of Malaysia’s vehicle inspection ecosystem by adopting advanced VL Test (VLT) technology from the Netherlands, bringing European precision technology to local pre-test and repair services.

SCS managing director Gan Kok Leong said with VLT’s precise data and real road simulation, the company’s centre supports Malaysia’s vehicle inspection efforts with computerised pre-test and on-the-spot repair services, helping every driver stay roadworthy and confident before sending their vehicles to the official computer inspection centre.

“Using VLT equipment, SCS can identify brake imbalance, suspension misalignment and other issues that are often impossible to detect with visual inspection alone.

“Regular computerised testing is essential, commercial vehicles must undergo inspection every six months at the official computer inspection centre, while e-hailing vehicles are inspected once annually,” he said in a statement today.

Established in 2019, SCS operates as a one-stop automated test and repair centre, supporting private car owners, fleet operators, logistics companies and e-hailing drivers. Its partnership with VLT marks a significant step forward as SCS prepares to expand its services.

Meanwhile, VLT commercial product manager Mark Van Ierland said the company has over 65 years of experience in manufacturing and supplying vehicle testing equipment to both government, private inspection centres, workshops, fleet owners and public transport around the world.

“Our equipment simulates actual road conditions with high repeatability and precision.

“Durability is another key strength -- many of our systems can operate for more than 25 years with proper maintenance and calibration. We provide long-term spare parts, remote software updates, calibration, and full-service support together with SCS,” he said.

He added that VLT’s 6th gen new equipment integrates seamlessly with IT platforms, enabling real-time data retrieval, automated test reporting, and over-the-air updates to comply with new regulations or new vehicle types entering the Malaysian market.
