Meta Bright Unit Takes 51 Pct Bumidotearth Stake, Boosts EPCC Push

KUALA LUMPUR, May 8 (Bernama) -- Meta Bright Group Bhd, via its wholly owned subsidiary Meta Bright Energy Sdn Bhd, has acquired a 51 per cent equity stake in Bumidotearth Sdn Bhd, securing a controlling interest.

In a statement, Meta Bright said the acquisition strengthens its position in the energy and infrastructure sector by internalising specialised engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning (EPCC) capabilities across the project lifecycle.

Meta Bright executive director of corporate and strategic planning Derek Phang Kiew Lim said the deal marks a strategic shift for the group’s energy platform, enabling it to internalise technical execution capabilities and accelerate nationwide expansion.

“Energy efficiency is rapidly becoming an operational imperative for commercial building owners grappling with rising electricity costs. By bringing Bumidotearth’s proven technology and EPCC expertise in-house, Meta Bright is now uniquely positioned to provide end-to-end, zero-capex solutions.

“We are combining capital funding, proprietary technology, and long-term execution to build a highly recurring, high-margin energy solutions business,” he said.

The group said the acquisition provides immediate, high-quality earnings visibility.

It also has an established deployment track record across premier sites, including shopping malls, hospitals, hotels and grocery stores.

Looking ahead, the platform has an identified project pipeline exceeding RM50 million, targeting major institutional clients and prominent commercial operators, the group said.
